17 YEARS LATER, OKIN BISCUITS ROLLS AGAIN IN NIGERIA

 After 17 years of silence, Okin Biscuits has finally remembered what it feels like to make biscuits again. 😂

The comeback began in Offa, where the company brought one of its production lines back to life for a technical trial on Tuesday.

Okin had been forced into a lengthy shutdown after vandals reportedly stripped the factory of vital equipment, including cables, frequency drives, contactors, motors and other electronic components. The result was a factory that once produced a familiar Nigerian household favourite sitting practically frozen in time.

But after 17 years, the machines are finally making noise again.

There is one small catch: this is not yet the grand return of the Okin biscuits Nigerians remember. The company says more testing, calibration and rehabilitation are still needed before full production can resume.

The revival also got a major boost when Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company connected the factory to a 33KVA Band A electricity supply on the same day.

For now, the company says the main goal was to prove that a production line that had been silent for 17 years could still be brought back to life.

And that test has officially been passed. ✅

The bigger challenge now is bringing back the familiar taste and quality that made Okin popular in the first place.

So Nigerians may have to wait a little longer before Okin properly returns to store shelves.

After 17 years, though, even the sound of biscuits rolling off that production line feels like somebody finally remembered where they kept a piece of Nigerian childhood. 🥹🍪🇳🇬
