In 2025, three Premier League bosses rank among the world’s top 10 highest-paid football managers – and there are some unexpected names on the list.
Interestingly, only six of the top earners are based in Europe, with four managers commanding hefty salaries outside the continent. Using the latest data, we've ranked the top 10 managers by their annual wages.
10. Carlo Ancelotti – £8.4 million/year
Ancelotti tops the list among international managers in terms of salary.
Having recently left Real Madrid where he reportedly earned £9.6 million annually he took a slight pay cut to take charge of the Brazilian national team.
Expectations are high for Brazil under his leadership as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
9. Jose Mourinho – £9.2 million/year
Now managing Fenerbahce, Mourinho is comfortably the best-paid coach in Turkey, with a salary approaching £200,000 per week.
The 62-year-old has one year left on his deal and stands to earn another £9.2 million before it ends.

8. Matthias Jaissle – £9.6 million/year
At just 37, Jaissle is the youngest manager on this list.
The German earned recognition at Red Bull Salzburg before joining Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League in 2023.
He recently secured his first trophy with the club, winning the AFC Champions League Elite.
7. Luis Enrique – £9.6 million/year
Fresh off PSG’s historic Champions League triumph, Enrique may soon be in line for a raise.
He’s transformed the culture at the Parisian club, earning high praise from club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
“Luis Enrique promised amazing, attacking football – and he delivered. He’s the best coach in the world,” Al-Khelaifi said earlier this year.
6. David Moyes – £12.5 million/year
Arguably the most surprising name on this list.
While Moyes is a respected figure in the Premier League, it’s unexpected to see him earning more than coaches like Arne Slot, Unai Emery, and Eddie Howe.
And that £12.5 million is just his base salary—bonuses could push his total earnings even higher.
5. Stefano Pioli – £15.5 million/year
Pioli is currently at the helm of Al-Nassr, one of several high-profile coaches to take charge of the Saudi side in recent years.
He’s reportedly considering a return to Italy, with Fiorentina interested. Leaving would mean walking away from a massive salary—but a homecoming may tempt him.
4. Mikel Arteta – £15.6 million/year
Arteta signed a new three-year contract with Arsenal in December, making him the fourth-highest-paid manager in the world.
Since taking over in 2019, he has transformed the Gunners, though he’ll be eager to finally clinch silverware next season.
3. Pep Guardiola – £20.7 million/year
Once the second-highest-paid manager in world football, Guardiola now sits third after signing a contract extension with Manchester City through 2027.
At City, only Erling Haaland earns more, with a staggering £27.3 million annual wage.
2. Simone Inzaghi – £21.8 million/year
Inzaghi made headlines by swapping Inter Milan for Saudi giants Al-Hilal.
Now earning £454,000 per week, he’s tasked with leading the club out of a tough Club World Cup group featuring Real Madrid, RB Salzburg, and Pachuca.
1. Diego Simeone – £25.9 million/year
Simeone remains the highest-paid manager in world football in 2025.
With Atletico Madrid since 2011, the Argentine has consistently kept the club competitive despite the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Still under contract until 2027, Simeone shows no signs of slowing down
