“SMALL LIGHT” (poem of the day)

SMALL LIGHT  (poem of the day)

A single flame in darkest night Won’t chase the shadows far, But still it hums a quiet truth— You know just where you are. Its glow is not for grand parade, but for the soul’s small star.

It doesn't roar or pierce the storm, It doesn’t beg to shine, It only holds its little post And keeps the dark in line. A vow made soft with steady hands, a patience by design.

When doubt surrounds like heavy mist And dreams feel faint and thin, That tiny light still burns within— It says, “You still begin.” Not every step must see the end to find the way to win.

It lives in gestures few will see, In kindness left unnamed, In holding on when others flee, And never seeking fame. For strength is often quiet work, and courage walks untamed.

So be that flame—don’t seek the praise, Don’t fear the looming night. The world has need for steady souls Who bring their little light. And one by one, we just might find we set the dark alight.
