Russian Drone Attacks Decrease in Intensity After Several Nights of Heavy Bombardment

Russian Drone Attacks Decrease in Intensity After Several Nights of Heavy Bombardment Russia launched around 60 drones at Ukraine overnight, marking a significant reduction after three nights of intense aerial attacks, according to Ukrainian officials. The earlier attacks included a record-breaking 355 drones on Sunday night, which drew strong criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump, who accused Vladimir Putin of acting "absolutely CRAZY" and threatened sanctions. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that targets in nine locations were hit during the latest drone attack. Several people were injured, including a 17-year-old boy, as air defense forces worked to intercept incoming drones. The attacks caused fires, destruction of property, and injuries in various regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Sumy.

In Kherson, a 59-year-old man was injured during a morning drone strike, while six city employees were injured in a separate attack shortly after 8 a.m. The city frequently shelters from Russian shelling and drone assaults. Meanwhile, in Sumy, a drone strike caused a fire in an industrial building, but no casualties were reported. Russia has not commented on the recent attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to call on Western countries to increase sanctions pressure on Russia to push for peace, amid ongoing hostilities that began with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
