(In Kenya) Musalia Mudavadi Calls for Smooth Electoral Process, Timely IEBC Reconstitution

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, has made a passionate appeal to Kenyans to approach upcoming elections with confidence and courage. Speaking in his capacity, Mudavadi emphasized the importance of electoral reforms and the need for a functional Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He warned that delays caused by political interference and court challenges are disrupting the electoral process and denying citizens timely representation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Mudavadi, speaking in Kakamega County, stressed that the IEBC vetting process was transparent, with nominees publicly interviewed and Parliament inviting Kenyans to submit information on candidates’ suitability.

He highlighted that prolonged delays undermine constitutional timelines and harm democratic rights, urging all parties to stop obstructing the process and allow elections to proceed smoothly.
