(In Kenya) Anne Amadi Leads Pack as Top Choice for IEBC Chairperson in Latest Poll

 

Anne Amadi is making waves in Kenya because a new TIFA Research poll shows she is the public’s top choice for IEBC Chairperson. 

With 41% support, she leads over Charles Nyachae and other contenders. 

Despite her popularity, many Kenyans remain doubtful about the transparency of the selection panel, raising concerns over the credibility of the recruitment process and the public's limited awareness of other shortlisted candidates.

The panel chaired by Dr. Nelson Makanda interviewed 11 candidates between March 24 and 26, 2025.

 Amadi, former Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, stressed emotional intelligence, teamwork, and legal reforms during her session. 

She also advocated consistent engagement with lawmakers to strengthen electoral laws. 

The panel will submit two names to President Ruto, who will then make the final appointment amidst ongoing scrutiny of the process.
