FEMALE ACTOR OF THE DAY (SCARLETT JOHANSSON)
Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, in Manhattan, New York City. Her father, Karsten Johansson, is an architect from Denmark, and her mother, Melanie Sloan, is a producer of Ashkenazi Jewish descent. Raised alongside her twin brother, Hunter, and three other siblings, Scarlett showed an early interest in performing. Her passion for acting led her to enroll at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan. By the age of eight, she had already begun auditioning, determined to break into the competitive world of acting.

Johansson’s career took off in the mid-1990s with early roles in films such as North (1994) and Manny & Lo (1996), the latter earning her an Independent Spirit Award nomination. However, it was her performance in The Horse Whisperer (1998) that gained her broader recognition. As she transitioned into adult roles, her nuanced portrayal of Charlotte in Lost in Translation (2003), opposite Bill Murray, solidified her place as a serious actress. That same year, she starred in Girl with a Pearl Earring, receiving critical acclaim and multiple award nominations. These roles marked her transition from child actor to Hollywood leading lady.
