China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi Supports India-Pakistan Talks for Lasting Ceasefire in Beijing Meet

 

Today, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed support for efforts by Pakistan and India to resolve their longstanding tensions through dialogue and to achieve a comprehensive, lasting ceasefire. His comments were made during a meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Beijing.

The development follows the April 10 ceasefire agreement between the two countries, which ended nearly three decades of intense fighting, and was facilitated by diplomatic pressure from the United States.
