Televangelist Timothy Omotoso has been acquitted of all charges

Omotoso is trending in South Africa because the televangelist has been acquitted of all rape and human trafficking charges following a long-winded legal battle since his arrest in April 2017.The court found that the State did not prove its case beyond reasonable doubt, further adding that the witness statements were unsatisfactory, subsequently ruling in Timothy Omotoso's favour, acquitting him on all charges.

 

Timothy Omotoso who is the Senior Pastor at Jesus Dominion International, located in Durban, South Africa, was arrested alongside Lusanda Solani and Zikiswa Sitho, both senior members of his church, on accusations of sexual assault, human trafficking, and racketeering.The clergyman was accused of using his position to manipulate young women into sexual acts, some as young as 14 years old. He was arrested by the South African priority crimes unit, Hawks, on 20 April 2017 at the Port Elizabeth International Airport.
