Morocco advances in latest FIFA rankings.

Morocco’s national football team has soared to 12th place in the latest FIFA world rankings released in April 2025, climbing two positions from 14th.

This rise reinforces their status as the highest ranked team among Arab and African nations. The team now boasts 1694.24 points, a tally boosted by an additional 6.06 points earned from convincing victories over Niger and Tanzania during the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. These wins highlight Morocco’s growing prowess on the international stage as they eye a strong showing in the upcoming tournament.

Across Africa, Senegal remains the continent’s second best team, holding steady at 19th globally. Egypt has made notable progress, jumping to 32nd, while Algeria sits at 36th, Ivory Coast at 41st, and Nigeria at 43rd, rounding out the top African sides. Morocco’s consistent performance keeps them well ahead of their regional rivals.

On the global leaderboard, Argentina continues to dominate, retaining the top spot. Spain has surged past France to claim second place, pushing the French team down to third. England and Brazil follow in fourth and fifth, respectively, maintaining their positions among the world’s elite. Morocco’s ascent to 12th brings them closer to breaking into that top tier, a testament to their skill, strategy, and determination.

The Atlas Lions, as they’re nicknamed, have been a force to watch, blending disciplined defense with dynamic attacks. Fans and analysts alike are buzzing about what’s driving this success, from standout players to coaching brilliance. With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers heating up, Morocco’s momentum could carry them even further.

Could this be the start of a historic run for African football on the global stage? Time will tell, but for now, Morocco is flying high.
