Maradona’s Psychiatrist Denies Affair Allegations Amid Death Trial.

Agustina Cosachov, a psychiatrist charged in the death of Diego Maradona, has publicly denied allegations of a sexual relationship with the football icon.

..

The controversy erupted when Veronica Ojeda, Maradona’s former partner and mother of his son, shared WhatsApp messages from Cosachov’s private exchange with another defendant, psychologist Carlos Diaz.

In the chats, Diaz accused Cosachov of intimacy with Maradona, prompting her to respond, “therapy is therapy, everyone has their own technique.”

.. Cosachov, facing homicide charges that could lead to a 25-year sentence, insists the remarks were sarcastic, made under stress, and misinterpreted.

She emphasized that her relationship with Maradona, who died of heart failure in November 2020, was always professional, a stance she extends to all her patients.

The messages, part of the prosecution’s case, were sent shortly before Maradona’s death while he was under home care in Tigre, Argentina, after brain surgery. Cosachov claims the media’s portrayal of her as Maradona’s “new woman” fueled the misunderstanding.

...

The trial, which began on March 11, 2025, involves seven defendants, including Maradona’s doctor Leopoldo Luque and several nurses, all accused of homicide with possible intent.

A Buenos Aires court is examining the conditions of Maradona’s final days, described by prosecutors as a “House of Horror.”

...

The case, set to run through summer, recently saw the arrest of Maradona’s former bodyguard for suspected perjury. Cosachov’s denial marks another dramatic turn in a trial that continues to captivate global audiences, raising questions about accountability in the care of one of football’s greatest legends.

...

The public remains divided, with some defending Cosachov’s explanation and others skeptical as the court digs deeper into the circumstances surrounding Maradona’s tragic end.
