Ashaiman is trending in Ghana because Ghanaian netizens have expressed delight at the sudden commencement of construction of the Ashaiman-Afienya-Akosombo highway by The President John Dramani Mahama administration.

The project was initially commissioned and abandoned by the Nana Akufo-Addo government.

The Ashaiman-Afienya-Akosombo highway construction has especially stirred reactions of gratitude from netizens who have hailed the government for having the foresight to engage the workers in the middle of the night in order to prevent disruption of vehicular movement.
