Ex-Finance Minister Amin Adam Exposes Truth: NPP Never Implemented Betting Tax

 




Amin Adam is trending in Ghana because the former Finance Minister has declared that the Nana Akufo-Addo administration never implemented the Betting Tax. The former finance minister's assertion comes hours after current finance minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson revealed during the Budget Reading in Parliament that the Mahama administration will abolish the 10% withholding tax on betting imposed by the Akufo-Addo administration. The Akufo-Addo administration imposed the Betting Tax in an attempt to reportedly curb the gambling rate in Ghana. Betting Tax is trending because a few weeks after the controversy generated by the current status of the 10% betting tax imposed by the Nana Akufo-Addo administration in an attempt to reportedly curb the gambling rate in Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama has officially assented to legislative bills abolishing several taxes. The Betting Tax which generated a great deal of controversy, was one of the taxes abolished by the president. Others include the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) and Emissions Tax.
