Conor McGregor Demands Stadium Fight in the United States for UFC Return Against Michael Chandler

...

Conor McGregor has sparked a wave of excitement in the MMA world after announcing his intention to return to the UFC, with one clear condition.

The Irish fighter insists his comeback bout must take place in a large stadium setting, aiming for a high-profile spectacle that matches his star power.

...

In a recent post on X, McGregor called out American fighter Michael Chandler, referring to their long-awaited matchup as “unfinished business.” The two were originally set to clash after coaching opposite teams on The Ultimate Fighter in 2023, but the bout never materialized. Now, McGregor is pushing for the showdown to be revived and staged in a grand venue on American soil.

..
His latest demand was inspired by a recent WWE event held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, which left a strong impression on him.

McGregor suggested that his UFC return should have the same electric atmosphere, prompting speculation that the UFC may consider hosting the fight at a major venue like Allegiant Stadium or AT&T Stadium in Texas.

McGregor has not stepped into the octagon since July 2021, when he suffered a leg injury in a bout against Dustin Poirier.

...
Despite his lengthy absence, he remains one of the sport’s biggest draws, and the prospect of a stadium event only adds to the buzz surrounding his return.

As of April 23, 2025, the UFC has not confirmed any official plans for the fight. However, Michael Chandler has welcomed McGregor’s callout and appears ready to sign on if the stadium demand is met.

...
Fans now wait to see whether the UFC will deliver on McGregor’s vision of a blockbuster stadium showdown in the United States.

The pieces are moving and momentum is building but until a date and venue are locked in the fight remains a high-stakes waiting game.
