Barry Keoghan is trending in the United Kingdom because he has been cast as Ringo Starr in a new series of Beatles biopics directed by Sam Mendes.

 The films, announced at CinemaCon 2025, will focus on each band member individually. Keoghan will star alongside Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, with a 2028 release planned.

The casting has received mixed reactions, with some praising the choices while others criticise the lack of Liverpudlian actors. 

The project has received support from The Beatles' surviving members and families. 

Fans are eagerly anticipating how the films will portray the legendary band’s story from multiple perspectives.
