La Liga say the new auditor of Barça did not rightly calculate the €100m from the sale of the VIP seats. Barça are once again out of 'fair-play' and do not have the capacity to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. La Liga has flagged an issue with FC Barcelona’s finances, specifically how the club accounted for €100 million earned from selling VIP seats at the Camp Nou. The league says the new auditor didn’t calculate this revenue correctly under their financial fair play rules. As a result, Barcelona doesn’t currently have the capacity to register star players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. See also: Two Weeks in Paris: Nigerians Question Tinubu's Priorities During Paris Visit
This mess comes after the club used the VIP seats money earlier in 2025 to temporarily secure the duo’s registration. However, La Liga has now cut Barcelona’s squad cost limit, arguing that the latest financial statements don’t properly reflect that €100 million as previously approved. This leaves the club out of compliance once more. The situation has put Olmo and Víctor’s eligibility to play in doubt, even though they’ve been active thanks to a temporary approval from the Spanish Superior Sports Council earlier this year.
It’s another chapter in Barcelona’s battle to balance the books while keeping their team competitive.
