Adetoun is trending in Nigeria because the activist and children's advocate is currently the subject of mixed reactions from netizens following a video she posted where she harshly reprimanded a cleaning lady for bringing her 11 year old daughter to assist with the cleaning at 4:00am.

Adetoun's criticism of the mother's actions has garnered reactions of annoyance from some netizens who have reprimanded her for speaking rudely to the woman in her daughter's presence. On the other hand, other netizens have applauded the advocate's actions and emphasized that child labour should not be tolerated in any form.
Following outrage generated by the now viral video of her conversation with the cleaning lady, Adetoun has tendered an apology to the woman for her earlier rudeness.
Well-meaning Nigerians have also sought means to offer financial assistance to the woman. Popular businessman Abutex, has offered the sum of ₦1 million to the woman.
