A disturbing case of alleged child defilement has shaken Uganda, with Hajji Ali Mwizera remanded by the Kajjansi Chief Magistrates Court until November 13, 2024. The accused appeared in court on Entebbe Road, facing charges for allegedly defiling his 14-year-old stepdaughter, Nisha.

The case was initiated by Hajji Mwizera's wife, Hajati Zulah Nakisuuyi Kazibwe, who courageously reported her husband to the authorities. Her actions have been hailed as a testament to her unwavering commitment to protecting her child.
The news has sparked widespread outrage, with Ugandans taking to social media to express their disgust and demand justice for Nisha.

"Child defilement is a scourge on our society. We must work together to prevent it," said Hon. Betty Amongi, Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
Uganda's laws prohibit child defilement, with the Penal Code Act stipulating severe penalties for offenders. However, implementation and enforcement remain challenges.
"The law is clear, but we need to ensure it's enforced effectively," said Justice Mike Chibita, Director of Public Prosecutions.

As the case unfolds, Ugandans are rallying around Nisha, offering support and solidarity.
