West Africa will be well-represented at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant, scheduled for November 16, 2024, in Mexico City, Mexico. Three stunning queens from the region are gearing up to make their mark on the global stage.
Here are some of the confirmed African contestants for Miss Universe 2024:
- Guinea: Saran Bah, a 29-year-old top Guinean model, will make history as Guinea's first-ever representative at Miss Universe ¹. She was the 2nd runner-up in Miss Guinea 2019 and Miss Guinea Canada 2014.
- Senegal: Fatou Bintou Gueye, 23, will represent Senegal after being crowned the first runner-up at Miss Senegal 2024 ¹. Born and raised in Dakar, she's ready to take on the international stage.
- Nigeria: Chidinma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, will also compete in Mexico . Born in Soweto, South Africa, to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, Adetshina's journey to the Miss Universe stage has been unique.
This year's pageant will feature over 14 African representatives, highlighting the continent's significant presence and growing influence in international beauty contests.
