Skit maker Brain Jotter Involved in Crypto Scam

 Popular Nigerian skit maker, content creator and social media influencer, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, better known as Brain Jotter, has been accused of cryptocurrency fraud after his $Jota Coin crashed a few hours after it was launched on 1st September, 2024. The $Jota Coin which debuted on the TON Network( a blockchain developed and owned by Telegram) has garnered strong claims of being a "rug pull", an allegation which has sparked outrage amongst Nigerians who have observed the increasing frequency of the crash of various forms of cryptocurrency coins launched by celebrities despite high anticipation and endorsement of the coin's solidity.

In cryptocurrency terms, a rug pull refers to a scam where a cryptocurrency or NFT developer promotes a project to attract investor funding, only to shut down or disappear, taking investor assets with them. Many cryptocurrency investors, stakeholders and observers have called for greater regulatory scrutiny in the cryptocurrency system in order to lessen scamming techniques brought on by a "rug pull".
