Nigerian singer, composer and performer, Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel, popularly known as Dammy Krane, has in a series of posts on social media, called out his colleague David Adeleke better known as Davido, for orchestrating his arrest. Dammy Krane claimed that Davido paid for him to get arrested and also wrote a petition staying that he (Dammy Krane) was involved in Flutterwave and Crypto scam. Dammy Krane also publicly warned that if anything were to happen to him, Davido should be held responsible.

Dammy Krane's alleged arrest comes two months after he made defamatory and accusatory remarks against Davido. Dammy Krane stated had "a hand" in the 2017 death of Umeike Tagbo, a close friend and member of Davido's music crew who died at a bar located in Lekki Lagos state after he reportedly downed 10 shots of tequila on his birthday. Nollywood actor Caroline Danjuma who was at the time involved in a relationship with Tagbo, alleged that Davido ran away after dumping his corpse at a general hospital on Lagos Island. She also insisted that Tagbo had not passed away from drunkenness. Davido denied all of the allegations and declined to speak further on Tagbo death during the public attention it attracted.
