Five Israeli Army soldiers killed in Friendly Fire incident in North Gaza

 The Israeli military has confirmed that five soldiers were killed by friendly fire in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday.



 The incident occurred during intense fighting in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

 The military had earlier announced the deaths of five soldiers in the area, without specifying the cause.


 A military spokesperson has since confirmed that the fatalities resulted from Israeli fire. 



This brings the total number of Israeli troops killed in the Gaza operation to 278 since the ground offensive began on October 27.


 Fighting has escalated in northern Gaza in recent days, with Hamas attempting to regroup and Israel launching targeted strikes. 



The conflict has seen fierce battles and heavy bombardments in the Jabalia and Nuseirat refugee camps.
