The Ogun State Police Command confirmed that a man was fatally shot in front of his residence in Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to SP Omolola Odutola, the command’s Public Relations Officer, two gunmen arrived in an unregistered Toyota Corolla and shot the man in the head while he was relaxing outside his house on Sunday.
The attackers swiftly fled the scene. Upon hearing the gunfire, neighbors alerted the police, who arrived to find the victim deceased in a pool of blood.
Medical professionals at the State Hospital, Abeokuta, pronounced the man dead, and his body was taken to the hospital’s morgue for further examination.
Odutola noted that no arrests had been made yet, but investigations were underway.
