Bobrisky Denied Bail;Court Reserves Judgement

 Following the arrest of crossdresser and transgender social media personality, Idris Olarewaju Okuneye, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of naira abuse and money laundering, the crossdresser who was arraigned at a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday 5th April 2024, has been denied bail by the judge. The crossdresser and transgender, pled guilty to charges of naira abuse after the judge struck out the money laundering charge.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos, reserved judgement until 9th April, 2024 and ordered that Bobrisky be detained in custody of The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until said date. Following his arrest on 4th April 2024, Bobrisky had initially been charged with six counts of abuse and money laundering by the EFCC.  It is yet unknown if the crossdresser's potential sentencing comes with an option of fine.
