Woman Fatally Crushed by Truck in Lagos Due to Brake Failure

 An unidentified woman was fatally crushed by a truck in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State on Monday. 

Adebayo Taofiq, spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, confirmed the incident.

 Initial investigations suggest that the cement mixer truck was speeding and lost control due to brake failure.

The driver attempted to swerve but ended up crushing the woman. 

The body was retrieved by traffic officials and handed over to the police. 

The driver was apprehended, with assistance from the police. 

Abdul Salam Nurudeen, leading the recovery efforts, confirmed assistance from bystanders in removing the trapped body.

 LASTMA's General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, warned truck owners and drivers to ensure proper vehicle checks before journeys.
