In a video making the rounds on the internet, a Ghanaian clergyman identified as Bishop Sam Owusu, has while speaking to his congregation sent a strong message Ghanaians over the blatant disregard of their own ministers and seeming preference for Nigerian clergymen. The aggrieved bishop accused Ghanaians of not loving or celebrating "their own" but choosing to embrace "foreigness".

Making reference to a recent crusade programme organised in Ghana by popular Nigerian pastor and convener of the the online meeting New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration(NSPPD), Bishop Owusu stated that Ghanaians flocked the programme in a way they would never think of attending a similar event organised by a Ghanaian clergyman. Accusing Ghanaians of being hypocritical and killing all of their prophets, the Bishop cited this as why it seems the country lacks anointed men of God.
