Actor O Yeong-su, known for his role in the popular series "Squid Game," has been convicted of sexual misconduct, according to a local court announcement on Friday.
The 79-year-old, who won a Golden Globe Award in 2022 for his performance, has received an eight-month suspended prison sentence along with a requirement to attend 40 hours of sexual violence classes.

O Yeong-su intends to appeal the decision within seven days.
The charges stem from incidents in 2017, during which O allegedly assaulted a woman on two occasions while staying in a rural area for a theater performance.
Womenlink, a women's rights organization, has called for O to apologize to the victim and commended the court's decision.
The controversy surrounding the allegations has led O to withdraw from an upcoming film project in South Korea.
