Catherine, Princess Of Wales, widely known as Kate Middleton, wife to to William, Prince of Wales, heir apparent to the British throne, has publicly revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer. The 42 year old Princess announced in a video message on Friday 22 March, in which she described the past two months as “incredibly tough for our entire family.” Her diagnosis comes barely one month after her father-in-law and King of England, King Charles III, announced his own struggles with prostate cancer.

Before her public revelation of her cancer diagnosis, Kate Middleton underwent abdominal surgery in January and largely disappeared from public view as she tried to recuperate. in a prerecorded video broadcast on the BBC on Friday evening, The Princess described the news of her cancer diagnosis as a “huge shock” and asked for “time, space and privacy". While failing to mention the form of cancer she had been diagnosed with, Her Royal Highness revealed that she is to undergo preventive chemotherapy and is now in the early stages of treatment.
