The Nigerian Navy's Forward Operating Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State has dismantled an illegal refinery situated in Awoye community, part of the Ilaje Local Government Area.
According to the military, this serves as a proactive step to combat criminal activities like kidnapping, crude oil theft, and illegal bunkering along the coastal region.

The Commander of the Forward Operating Base, Captain Wasuku Alushi, made this known on Wednesday while speaking with newsmen.
In his words:
“You would recall that two weeks ago, Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base in Igbokoda under the directive of the Nigeria Flag Officer Commanding, launched special operation here and the essence is for us to extend our tentacles to be able to checkmate some of the criminal activities in the riverine environment especially kidnapping, crude Oil theft and illegal bunkering.
