Operatives of The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration Control(NAFDAC) have carried out a bust of an illegal alcoholic production and distribution ring at the Trade Fair Complex located in Lagos. The bust led to the discovery of various illegal brands of alcoholic beverages totalling an estimated number of 3,542 cartons containing empty and filled bottles valued at over two hundred and fifty million (250,000,000) naira.

Confirming the bust of the illegal alcohol production and distribution operations situated within shops 34, 17/24 as well as 17/2 in the Niger 4 Plaza of the Trade Fair Complex, NAFDAC revealed that the agency acted on credible anonymous tip-off. The bust of the illegal alcohol production outlets further led to the discovery of improvised filters, cartons of empty bottles with intact labels, corks, packaging materials in addition to the already produced and packaged alcoholic beverages. All of the items and packages were seized and evacuated from the location by team members of the National Agency for Food Drugs Administration Control.
