Man Commits Suicide After Participating in Community Service with Village Youths

 A thirty year old male identified as Nerus Chinaechenwa Elemamba, reportedly took his own life shortly after he returned from a joint labour/community service involving all of the youths in his village. According to reports, the deceased who until the time of suicide, had been a resident of Umuohii, Oboama community  located in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, had been found dangling from the ceiling in his apartment shortly after his participation in the joint community service on the evening of Monday, 11th March 2024.

Nerus Chinaechenwa Elemamba had a while ago graduated from the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, where he had acquired a degree in architecture. Speaking on the deceased's unknown reasons for committing suicide, the village youth leader stated: "This is shocking. No one knows the reason for his actions. He didn’t leave any note behind. He was not married. He is between 30 and 31 years of age. He was not taken to a mortuary. He is being buried as we speak. This is after the specified cultural rituals to appease the land have been carried out.”
