LASG Set to Reopen Lekki Conservation Centre

 Following the hasty closure of The Lekki Conservation Centre (LCC) in January 2024, as a result of public outcry over the center's poor maintenance and dilapidated appearance of the canopy walk, The Lagos State Government has revealed that the Conservation Center is set to be reopened to the public.  According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the governor on Tourism, Idris Aregbe, the Conservation Centre has been scheduled for reopening to tourists and visitors on Friday 29th March 2024. The Special Adviser further assured Lagos residents and visitors that extensive maintenance had been carried out on various parts of the centre.

The Lekki Conservation Centre (LCC)is a 78-hectare (190-acre) Natural Resource Conservation located in Lekki, Lagos State Nigeria. Established in 1990 to serve as biodiversity conservation icon and environment education centre, the facility was built by the Chevron Corporation for the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), as a reserved sanctuary for the rich flora and fauna of the Lekki Peninsula. The Lekki Conservation Centre has the Longest Canopy walkway in Africa.
