Kano State Government Offers Subsidized Hajj Rates to Pilgrims

 The Kano State Government has paid the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) for every intending pilgrim from Kano State who will take part in this year’s Hajj. The news of pilgrimage subsidy which is to be carried out under the management of the Kano State Pilgrims' Welfare Board, was publicly revealed by Director General of the Board, Alhaji  Alhaji Lamin Dan-Baffa, while speaking to members of the press on Wednesday 27 March, 2024. 

The Director General further stated that the Hajj subsidy initiave which is to benefit 2,900 Muslim faithfuls, would cover the remaining cost for intending 2024 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, who have paid the initial 4.9 million naira deposit and have been asked to pay an additional 1.9 million naira. Alhaji Dan-Baffa also urged all intending pilgrims to ensure that they paid the outstanding balance before March 28 as directed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). Alhaji Dan-Baffa added that the initiative was the governor's way of alleviating the sufferings of intending pilgrims in the present economic situation.
