Hairdresser and Dispatch Rider Arrested for Selling Drugged Chin-chin to Students

 A 20 year old hair stylist, Josephine Odunu  and 30 year old dispatch rider, Edesemi Ikporo, have been arrested by operatives of The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) for the sale and distribution of illicit drug-laced chin-chin to school students and at social parties in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Confirming the arrest of the duo, NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the dispatch rider Edesemi Ikporo had been intercepted by officers on patrol on 10 March 2024.

The Agency's spokesperson confirmed that a search of the dispatch rider's bike led to the recovery of 200 grams of the popular Nigerian pastry chin-chin, produced with cannabis sativa and tramadol. The dispatch rider upon being questioned and investigated gave up his accomplice, the hairdresser Josephine Odunu, who was responsible for distributing the laced chin-chin(which she regularly obtained from a currently wanted suspect) from her salon located in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital. Femi Babafemi also revealed that thorough search of the salon led to the recovery of 3.00kg, bringing the total weight of the illicit substance seized from the duo to 3.2kg.
