The Nigerian Government has summoned Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic leader, for questioning regarding his statements on bandit activities.
The Minister of Information and Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this announcement during a press briefing in Abuja, emphasizing that Gumi is not exempt from the law.

Gumi had recently called on the Tinubu-led government to join him in negotiating with bandits, cautioning against repeating what he considered the mistake of former President Muhammadu Buhari's refusal to engage in dialogue with them.
He also asserted that terrorism in Nigeria is not funded by Nigerians but by the terrorists themselves through ransom kidnappings.
