Authorities from the Adamawa State Police Command have detained a 42-year-old man, identified as Auwul Shaibu, for allegedly sexually assaulting his own 9-year-old daughter.
The incident was said to have taken place in Kabak Mubi South local government area on Monday, March 11.
Shaibu was arrested following a report by his wife, Asmau Isa.

During the investigation, Shaibu admitted to the crime, citing excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs as contributing factors.
SP Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, while confirming the incident, said that CP Dankombo Morris, the Commissioner of Police for Adamawa State Command, has ordered a thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution upon its completion.
