Chinese Man Sentenced to Death by Kano High Court

 A Chinese male identified as Frank Geng-Quangrong, has been handed a death sentence (by hanging) by a Kano High Court located in Miller Road, for the murder of his twenty-three year old Nigerian girlfriend in 2022 in the same state. The now convicted murderer who until his arrest and trial resided in Railway Quarters, Kano, was convicted on one count of culpable homicide. According to the prosecution counsel's narration to the court, Frank Geng-Quanrong, had on 16 September 2022 at about 9:00pm, viciously stabbed his girlfriend with a knife in her house situated at Janbulo Quarters, Kano, for remains that remained unknown in the course of the trial. The victim, Ummulkhuksum Sani Buhari, had been rushed to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano, where she had been confirmed dead on arrival.

Despite entering a not guilty plea, 47 year old Frank Geng-Quangrong's testimony was deemed inconsistent by presiding judge, Justice Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji, who found him guilty of the crime while stating that the prosecution counsel, the Attorney-General of Kano State, Haruna Dederi, had proved his case beyond reasonable doubt. Speaking with the press shortly after the judge's ruling, the victim’s mother, Hajiya Fatima Zubairu, expressed satisfaction with Justice Ado-Ma'aji's decision to sentence her daughter's murderer to death by hanging.
