American rapper Robert Rihmeek Williams, professionally known as Meek Mill, has in a tweet on social media, expressed a strong desire to obtain Ghanaian citizenship. The rapper who recently faced allegations of homosexuality as well as a purported relationship with fellow rapper Puff Daddy, blamed America for tearing black men down, hence his desire to become Ghanaian. In Meek Mill's words: ""I wanna get citizenship in Ghana!!!! America made to tear black men down if you don’t follow orders!. Africa don’t got this sh*t I’m getting dual citizenship if they let me."

It will be recalled that in December 2022, Meek Mill who performed at the Afro Nation Music Festival in Ghana, was warmly received by Ghanaians, who magnanimously returned his mobile after it was declared missing at the festival. The rapper also met and held a meeting with Ghana's president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a meeting for which he received dragging from Ghanaians for surreptitiously filming a music video in Ghana's presidential palace, also known as Jubilee House, an action which was labelled "a desecration" by the people of Ghana.
