..."We Decided to Field a Goalkeeper from The 80s" Aisha Yesufu Throws Shade at Presidency

Following the victory of the Nigerian football team Super Eagles over the national team of South Africa, Bafana Bafana, sealing Nigeria's place in the Africa Cup of Nations final, human rights activist and businesswoman Aisha Yesufu, has seized the moment to pen a scenario of Nigeria's current political state. The human rights activist stated that Nigerians ought to use the same sense we apply to national football  matches to making our choices during the elections.

Aisha Yesufu who was vocal in her choice of Mr Peter Obi as a preferred candidate in the February 2023 presidential elections, emphasized that religious and tribal sentiments don't give positive results.  Likening Nigeria's current political state to a football game, the human rights activist wondered at a scenario where the Super Eagles team was made up of feeble players instead of young agile ones. In her words: "Imagine instead of fielding Stanley Nwabali we decided to field a goalkeeper from the 80s because it is his turn."
