UNICAL Student, Benedict Ori To Set New World Record In Reading

 A Nigerian man from Ojirim, Mbube, Ogoja, Cross River State and a 2nd year English & Literary Studies student of the University of Calabar identified as Benedict Ori is set to create a new world record in reading.


Ori who noted that his goal is to create a new record of 150 hours nonstop reading said the Guiness World Record GWR had already approved his readathon and had sent him stipulations and protocols to observe.



  Ori noted that he was physically, emotionally and mentally prepared for the readathon and will be reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation from 12th - 17th February, 2024.

Ori appreciated the courtesy and warmth of the Deputy Governor of Cross Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey towards his ambition.


He prayed that the Deputy Governor will continue to be a source of light and inspiration to students. 



The Deputy Governor, Hon. Odey also promised to be physically present on the last day of the readathon. 


The current holder of the title for longest reading marathon of 124 hours, Rysbai Isakov hails from Turkey, and has held the title since September 2022.
