Photos: Akeredolu's Funeral Service Holds in Hometown

The funeral service of the deceased governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu aka Aketi, has taken place at the Cathedral Church of St Andrew, Imola, Owo, Ondo state, today 23rd February, 2024. The deceased governor's funeral service was attended my dignitaries and politicians across the country. Some of the political and influential figures who attended the service include: Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, current governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, amongst others.

Fondly referred to as "Aketi', Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu was a Nigerian lawyer and politician who served as governor of Ondo State from 24 February 2017 until his death on 27 December 2023 at the age of 67. The deceased governor who had been receiving treatment in Germany, died in his sleep after a protracted battle with prostate cancer. Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was survived by his wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu with whom he had four children as well as grandchildren.
