A Lagos based woman identified as Barakat Adio, on Sunday lost her life after she was stabbed to death during a domestic quarrel with a neighbour identified as Cynthia Aigbondon.
The free-for-all happened while the two women were fetching water at a public tap in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.
Barakat and Cynthia were said to have engaged in a heated argument over whose turn it was to fetch water from the only available public borehole in the area.
The argument, which later resulted in a brawl, had Cynthia dashing into her one-room apartment, after which she grabbed a kitchen knife with which she used in stabbing the deceased.

Other neigbours at the scene arrested Cynthia as she tried to escape after noticing blood gushing out from the side of Barakat.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, while confirming the incident, said the incident was reported at the station by the late woman’s husband, Lukmon Adio.
According to the Police spokesman, around 9.45pm, the said Lukmon reported a murder case at the station against the suspect.
“He said his wife had a minor misunderstanding while fetching water at a public borehole close to his house, with her neighbour, one Cynthia Aigbondon, during which the suspect stabbed his wife with a kitchen knife on her left side.
