Benue Government Issues 14-day Quit Notice To Fulani Herdsmen To Leave They State

The Benue State Security Council has issued a 14-day ultimatum to herders violating the state’s anti-open grazing law, instructing them to cease rearing animals outside ranches.

Governor Hyacinth Alia who chaired the meeting, emphasized the enforcement of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Law (2017).

A seven-man committee has been formed by the government to ensure compliance with the directive, with herders urged to leave the state.
