A Nigerian actress identified as Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin popularly referred to as Simi Gold, has been handed a prison term of six months by a Federal High Court in Ikoyi for spraying and stomping on naira notes at a social event in Lagos. Details of her arraignment, plea and sentences were posted on the official X handle of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to the post made by the Commission, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin was first arraigned on February 13, 2023, by the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on two-count charges, to which she entered a 'not guilty' plea, She was subsequently granted bail on February 15, 2023. Upon recommencement of her hearing on Thursday 1st February, the actress changed her "not guilty" plea to "guilty" whereupon she was handed a six month prison sentence by the judge. However, the sentencing was accompanied with a fine option of three hundred thousand naira (300,000) which is to be remitted to the consolidated revenue account of the federation. .
