NBA star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has opened a learning centre in Lagos to help promote Igbo literacy among children.
The 28-year old Nigerian-Greek star made the announcement was made in a YouTube documentary titled ‘UGO: A Homecoming Story,’ where he featured his mother, who migrated from Nigeria to Greece 35 years ago.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, born in Athens, is a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player.
He currently plies his trade for the Milwaukee Bucks in the United States.

The documentary which produced in collaboration with the Giannis Foundation CAFF (Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation), WhatsApp, and the nonprofit organization NABU, showcases the best Giannis commitment to education.
The Lagos hub will focus on promoting literacy with Igbo children’s books.
