MC Oluomo Bows To Pressure, Steps Down As Lagos NURTW Chairman, Sego Takes Over

 The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, more known as MC Oluomo, has agreed to step down his role as the union's Lagos Executive.




Oluomo who made this decision on Sunday after a meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other key stakeholders at Government House, Alausa, Ikeja, said that he has agreed to cede power to Mustapha Adekunle (Sego), the current Treasurer of the union in the state, and that in he is going further to contest for NURTW President.


Mc Oluomo said that the decision and changes would take effect before the end of January 2024.



Factional President of NURTW, Tajudeen Agbede is currently bedridden as he is reported to be down with stroke.


The health state of Agbede was said to have paved way for MC Oluomo interest in the national job.

The NURTW in Lagos State has been embroiled in crisis after some leaders of the union in the state a month ago passed a vote of no confidence on Oluomo few days after he was re-elected for a second term.


 Oluomo was said to have faced pressure from most of his powerful friends and influential figures in Lagos including Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi to step down.
