A 26 year old man identified as Angrez Singh, has been handed over to the authorities for legal action after he was caught disguised as a woman in order to sit an exam for his 34 year old girlfriend named Paramjeet Kaur. Local media reports that the exam, a multipurpose health workers exam, was conducted on 7th January 2024 by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences at DAV Public School in Kotkapura, India. Angrez Singh who decided to impersonate his girlfriend by wearing red bangles, a bindi, lipstick, bangles and a ladies' suit, also went the extra mile of obtaining a fake ID with his girlfriend's picture on it alongside fake voter and Aadhar cards.
Unfortunately for Angrez and his girlfriend, their plans were foiled when Angrez's fingerprints failed to match those of the genuine candidate on the biometric device used by the institution for the recruitment exercise. The exam was Paramjeet's second attempt as she had failed a previous one earlier in 2023. Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University, Dr Rajeev Sood, told the press that Paramjeet Kaur’s paper had been cancelled as a result of her boyfriend's impersonation attempt.
