Singer and songwriter Innocent Ujah Idibia better known as 2Face or 2Baba Idibia, has in a post on his official social media platform, randomly mused on the status of his music career. Stating that new artists and singers whom he referred to as "new cats" are fervent with their music, the legendary musician declared that he had become an upcoming singer. Vowing to remedy his sudden perception as an "upcoming" singer, 2Baba hinted that he'd be returning to the studio to release music hits this year.

Noted for his vocal range, lyrical depth, and career longevity, 2Baba he is widely regarded as one of Africa's greatest musicians of all time. He is most influential for the rise in popularity of Nigerian pop music in the 2000s, and his solo debut album Face2Face (with the smash hit "African Queen") ushered in a new wave of awareness and reverence for Nigerian music amongst Africans on the continent and in diaspora. Prior to July 2014, he went by the stage name 2face Idibia.2Baba was the first winner of the MTV EMA Best African Act category in 2005 and is one of the most awarded Nigerian musicians in history.
