There was confusion in Desalu Street, Odo-Ona, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, Oyo State, as a sick woman identified as Blessing Ayeni was dropped at the front of her husband’s shop by officials of an unnamed hospital.
An eyewitness, Remilekun Tawose said the hospital officials claimed that Ms.Blessing has been abandoned at the hospital since last year and they are left with no other option other than bringing her to the known address of her husband, which is his shop where he sells alcoholic drinks.
The hospital representatives told some residents of the area that they had many times visited the husband to come take responsibility for the medical bills of his sick wife.
According to them, there was no positive response from him.
The eyewitness said the hospital representatives claimed that the immediate family members of Blessing initially showed up at the hospital but later stopped for reasons known to them.

The sick woman was said to still be lying on the floor, looking frail under the scorching sun when newsmen got there, as residents watched helplessly.
Tawose, the eyewitness further told TribuneOnline that:
“The reason we don’t know what to do at the moment is that officials of the hospital told us that we should not move closer to the sick woman because the ailment she is suffering from is contagious.”
Blessing’s husband on the other hand was nowhere to be found, just as his shop was under lock.
