Gangsters Invade Teaching Hospital; Forcefully Remove Corpse

 On Monday 15th January 2024, suspected thugs invaded the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH)Ado Ekiti, after a man was declared dead at the Accident and Emergency unit of the hospital. According to reports, the thugs led by the son of the deceased, forcefully gained entry into the hospital and proceeded to attack doctors, nurses and other health workers, they also damaged and outrightly destroyed some of hospital property and medical equipment before making away with the corpse without settling any of the incurred medical expenses. The aggrieved gangsters allegedly blamed the hospital management and medical doctors for negligence that led to the deceased's death.

Reacting to the shocking invasion of the hospital by these hoodlums, The Association of Resident Doctors at EKSUTH, has declared has declared an indefinite strike action to protest the hospital vandalisation, staff brutality and corpse theft carried out by the unnamed mourners. The Association has also appealed to the hospital management as well as governor of Ekiti state, Biodun Abayomi, to aid in apprehending the culprits and seek justice on behalf of the embittered health workers.
